Show User Library Folder in Mac OS X Lion & Mountain Lion

In OS X Lion and Mountain Lion the default setting is to hide the Library folder, probably to stop people from deleting or damaging files that are necessary for OS X Lion to run properly.

The Library folder was visible by default in past versions of Mac OS X, this is how to get it back:-

Show User ~/Library in OS X Lion & Mountain Lion

Open Terminal, and enter the following command to show or hide the directory:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

The users Library folder will immediately become visible again. Reverting this back to the standard Lion setting is simple too:

Hide User ~/Library in OS X Lion (default setting)

This returns to the default setting of hiding the user Library directory:
chflags hidden ~/Library

Changes take effect immediately again, and Library becomes invisible to the user.

Shepperton

Devon and Cornwall are hit by floods and the Thames is high so I hit Shepperton with Neil and Sam.

When we got home in the evening it was all over the news:-

Peak Surf Skin

I got a phone call this afternoon from Sam at Kent Canoes, the Peak Surfskin that I had ordered had turned up. I had planned to paddle at Yalding anyway so popped in to pick it up when I finished work.
Just to make sure I tried it on in the shop, super soft and stretchy breathable waterproof fabric stitched to Peak’s Freeride deck. As usual wit Peak Paddling gear it fitted perfectly, so I headed to Yalding.

Peak Speedskin

On the water performance was great allowing free movement, my only criticism is the pull cords that you use to tighten the arms flap around and have to be tucked away, I think a piece of velcro would be a neat solution to this.
